One inexpensive way to spend some time is by lodging at inns and cabins. Rooms go for as low as $250 on a weekend summer night at places like the Wainscott Inn in Sagaponack.
"There's a heated gunite swimming pool, two tennis courts, free high-speed wireless internet, color cable TV, direct dial phones. The biggest attraction is the ocean," owner Jim Hatgistavrou told Xirinachs.
It's wise to lock in these cheaper rates early, on weekends especially, according to Hatgistavrou.
"I don't think you can get a better value in the Hamptons," he said. "It's paradise out here."
