B&C Morning Show: Pelfrey's 'Lick Count,' Al's Parody Song Future And Jerry's Update

An astute fan tracked the number of times Mets pitcher Mike Pelfrey licked his hand Monday night during his start against the Nationals, which lasted 5 2/3 innings and featured 104 pitches.

The number we were given was 293, and if you've ever watched the orally-fixated pitcher patrol the mound, you know that number is not far-fetched.

While talking about Pelfrey, Boomer & Craig started pining for some of Al Dukes' classic Pelfrey-themed parody songs, only to be reminded that the producer extraordinaire is no longer permitted - by the powers-that-be - to dabble in the parody song game.  In an attempt to increase his on-air presence, Al is thinking of giving some 'slam poetry' a try.

A lot of words can be used to describe the great Jerry Recco, but today I think "patient" was applicable, as the well-rounded update anchor stood by patiently while Pelfrey's fixation and Al's road to notoriety were addressed.  In his update we heard about the Mets improving to 4-0 after coming back to beat the Nationals 4-3, the Yankees getting their first win of the young season, topping the Orioles 6-2, and the Knicks taking on the Bulls tonight in the Windy City.

In addition to all of that, Craig makes Eduardo Nunez into a 'porn star' before Jerry sang his little heart out, with some help from B&C...
