Police: 'White Glove Bandit' Nabbed In Lower Manhattan

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Authorities have arrested a man suspected of being the "White Glove Bandit."

He is believed to be responsible for a series of armed bank robberies in New York City while wearing white gloves.

New York City detectives and FBI agents nabbed Michael McManus near Thompkins Square Park in Lower Manhattan on Wednesday.

Authorities said McManus is suspected of Tuesday's armed bank robbery of an HSBC Bank on Broadway. He was also wanted in connection with three other armed bank robberies.

The U.S. District Attorney's Office is prosecuting the case.

It wasn't clear if McManus had a lawyer.
