Wake Held For Fallen FDNY Firefighter Richard Nappi

RONKONKOMA, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- Family and friends of New York City firefighter Richard Nappi paid their final respects at a wake in Ronkonkoma.

A lieutenant and 17-year veteran of the FDNY, Nappi died from a heart attack on Monday while battling a fire at a Bushwick warehouse.

Nappi's viewing at the Maloney's Funeral Home in Lake Ronkonkoma will continue Friday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

The funeral and procession will be held at Lake Ronkonkoma's The Church of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton on Saturday at 10:30 a.m.

A beloved and respected member of New York's bravest, Nappi is survived by a wife, a 12-year-old daughter and 11-year-old son.

A scholarship fund has been set up for Nappi's children at the request of officers and members of Engine 237. All donations to the fund can be sent to:
