Cops: Suspect Said He Had Bomb Before Robbing Maspeth Federal Savings
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The NYPD is asking for the public's assistance in identifying and locating a man wanted for a bank robbery in Queens.
A white male walked into Maspeth Federal Savings Bank on Wednesday at approximately 5:45 p.m., walked up to the teller and passed a note stating that he had a bomb, police said. The teller complied with his demand and handed the suspect an undisclosed amount of money. The suspect stuffed the money into a Models bag and then fled southbound on 69th Street towards Flushing Avenue, police said.
The suspect is described as a white male, around 18-20 years old and between 140 and 170 pounds.
The suspect was said to be wearing sun glasses, a black baseball hat, a white collared button down shirt, dark zippered jacket and one white/black baseball batting glove on his right hand, police said..
