Mets Left-Hander Daniel Herrera To Reportedly Undergo Tommy John Surgery
NEW YORK (WFAN) - Mets left-handed reliever Daniel Herrera will undergo Tommy John surgery after doctors found a tear in his left elbow, The Star-Ledger reported.
The 27-year-old was acquired as the player to be named in the deal that sent Francisco Rodriguez to the Brewers last season. The five-foot-six reliever pitched six innings for Triple-A Buffalo this season before being shut down with left-elbow issues.
Herrera went 0-1 with a 1.13 ERA in 16 games for New York last season.
Is this a hit to the Mets' bullpen, assuming Herrera was able to return to the team healthy in 2012? Sound off with your comments below...
