NYPD: Suspect Hid In Bathroom For 2 Hours Before Robbing Queens McDonald's

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A suspect is wanted in Queens for robbing a McDonald's after hiding in a bathroom for two hours waiting for the restaurant to close, police said Tuesday.

Just before 11 p.m. on April 19, the suspect walked into a McDonald's on Hillside Avenue.

After hiding in the bathroom for the next two hours, the suspect is seen on surveillance video around 1 a.m. wearing a ski mask and waving a semi-automatic handgun, police said.

That's when he forced two employees into a freezer while the third was told to open a safe, according to police. After getting into the safe, the suspect tied up the third employee using flex cuffs and then took off onto Avon Street.

The suspect has long hair and was also wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt and blue pants.

Anyone with information should call police or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or visit www.nypdcrimestoppers.com.
