After a busy weekend of sports, particularly in the Tri-State area, Jerry Recco’s first update of the morning was something you’re gonna want to hear. Jerry began by talking about the Knicks, who after getting their lunch money taken by the Heat Saturday afternoon, will try to rebound and take Game 2 tonight down in South Beach.
Last night’s NBA action was highlighted by the Clippers, who finished their Game 1 on a 28-3 run to beat the Grizzlies 99-98 and Andrew Bymn’s triple-double in the Lakers 103-88 victory over the Nuggets. Rounding out the scoreboard, the Celtics fell to the Hawks 83-74 and the Spurs topped the Jazz 106-91.
The Mets’ 6-5, 11-inning win over the Rockies has Boomer & Craig excited and thinking Johan Santana could become the first pitcher to win the Cy Young with out earning a win. The Yankees took the rubber game from the Tigers in the Bronx by a score of 6-2 and A-Rod passed Wilie Mays on the all-time RBI list.
Plus, the Flyers outlasted the Devils 4-3 in OT, the Rangers prepare for tonight’s Game 2 with the Capitals and Gus Johnson makes soccer sound exciting on the radio…
