As Alleged 9/11 Plotters Face Judge, Those Who Lost Loved Ones Feel Bevy Of Emotions
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - Khalid Sheikh Mohammed -- the alleged mastermind of the September 11th attacks -- and four others appeared before a military judge on Saturday morning at Guantanamo Bay for arraignment.
And 9/11 families hoping for swift justice are instead treated to a mockery, a joke, a debacle.

"There's no cooperation from the terrorists," retired Deputy Fire Chief Jim Riches told 1010 WINS' Steve Sandberg. "They're just going to ignore us and ignore the court."
Riches, who lost his son on 9/11, is spending the day watching the proceedings via closed circuit at Fort Hamilton in Brooklyn along with about three-dozen other families. He said that one defendant had to be restrained, and that they're walking around, praying and reading newspapers.
"Family members are a bit distraught," Riches said. "You can hear the moans and sighs, like, 'Are they kidding? What's going on here? Let's get on with the trial.' There's a bit of resentment."

Riches added that the alleged 9/11 conspirators appear to be taking their cues from Mohammed, who is donning all white and sporting a thick, red beard.
Mohammed and the four other accused terrorists have put off their pleas until a later date. Lawyers continued to discuss trial dates on Saturday night, another hearing has been set for June 12.
