Police: Ocean Parkway Head-On Car Crash Leaves 23-Year-Old Man Dead

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) - Police said that a head-on car crash in Brooklyn left one man dead and two other people injured.

The collision happened late Saturday on the Ocean Parkway in Sheepshead Bay.

Police said a BMW was heading south on the parkway when the driver lost control of the car, struck the center divider and crossed over it into oncoming traffic, where it hit a minivan. Police said all three people in the vehicles suffered serious body trauma.

The driver of the van, 23-year-old Jamal Iqual, was pronounced dead at Coney Island Hospital.

The driver of the BMW was taken to Kings County Hospital, where he’s listed in stable condition. His passenger was taken to Lutheran Medical Center, where she’s listed in stable condition.

No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.
