A new section of the park was designed with handicapped children in mind, WCBS 880 Long Island Bureau Chief Mike Xirinachs reported.
The two-acre space opened Friday and features foam-covered ground, swings you can't fall out of, and rides that can accommodate wheelchairs.
But it's a park that all children can enjoy.
"I think it's great. It's really good. It's a great idea with what they did," one parent told Xirinachs.
"Everything's very easily accessible, and very safe. It's a very nice place," said Marcus Hawthorne, who was there with with his 17-month-old son.
The park is located at Merrick and Stewart Avenues.
