NYPD: Suspect Punched Elderly Brooklyn Woman And Stole Pocketbook

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police are looking for a suspect they said punched an elderly woman in the head before taking her pocketbook in Brooklyn.

The incident happened on Wednesday around 8 p.m. near Saratoga Avenue in Bushwick, authorities said.

The suspect followed the 88-year-old woman into a building before he attacked and robbed her, police said.

The victim was taken to Woodhull Hospital in stable condition.

That suspect is described by police as man in his 20's, around 6-feet. He was last seen wearing a blue coat, black cap, dark-colored pants with two white stripes down the sides, and black sneakers with white stripes.
