VIDEO: N.J. Woman Struggles For Normalcy After Son Arrested For Murder

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A New Jersey mom is learning to cope with a complex set of emotions and circumstances that come with the arrest of her son, who is awaiting trial for murder.

Like so many holidays and celebrations, this Mother's Day is difficult for Gale Turner as she struggles to accept her new normal.

Her 25-year-old son, Jordan, has been in the Bergen County jail in Hackensack since his arrest in February 2011.

Police said he used an assault rifle to kill his ex-girlfriend, Heather Reyes, in their apartment.

He is being held on $1 million bail.

Turner sat with 1010 WINS News Anchor Sandi Klein to discuss how she manages her feelings while her son awaits trial.
