NEW YORK (WFAN) – Repeat after Steve: It’s good to be King!

Henrik Lundqvist and the Rangers took Game 1 on Monday night. Manhattan is abuzz. New Jersey? Better luck next time.

Were the Rangers tired out? Only in the second period did they look that way. Were the Devils rested? Yes, their last game was almost a week ago! But by the end of regulation, they were ruined.

Both teams were shaky until the third period, when the Rangers opened the floodgates.

On the other end of the ice, Lundqvist put the kibosh on all shots that came his way. He would have had more saves, you’d like to think, if it hadn’t been for the 26 blocks in front of him.

Nope, the Devils couldn’t wade through the King’s big, blue moat.

Bring on Game 2…
