NEW YORK (WFAN) – On Wednesday, Eli Manning and the Giants received their much-deserved Super Bowl rings.

Turns out the public would also have their chance at one Big Blue legend’s commemorative jewelry.

Lawrence Taylor’s championship ring from Super Bowl XXV has hit the auction block, SCP Auctions announced in a press release Thursday.

It was described on the auction site as “arguably the most significant” Super Bowl ring to ever hit the open market. The piece is highlighted by two football-shaped diamonds with “GIANTS” above and “WORLD CHAMPIONS” below.

There were 12 bids on lot No. 981 as of Thursday morning. The current high of $37,982 had not yet met the item’s reserve price.

The ring will come with a notarized letter of authorization from Taylor himself, though the winner shouldn’t expect the 21-year-old bling to arrive in pristine condition.

“The ring shows considerable wear,” the description read, “that in some eyes, only enhances (its) aura.”

Taylor, who has had his share of legal troubles in recent years, won his second title with New York in the 1991 classic. Super Bowl XXV was book-ended by Whitney Houston’s stirring rendition of the national anthem and the infamous last-second field goal attempt from Bills kicker Scott Norwood, pushed wide-right, that handed New York the 20-19 win.
