WCBS 880′s Sophia Hall reports
Looking to make some cash, the teen posted the sneakers for sale on Facebook. He agreed to meet two would-be buyers at a Dunkin Donuts in Baldwin Tuesday evening, but that’s when things took a scary turn, police said.
The teen was sitting at a table talking about the sale with the two suspects when one of them said he had a gun and told the boy to hand over the shoes, police said.
The teen threw the shoes at the two suspects, then ran. That’s when the two grabbed the shoes and took off.
Police are still searching for the suspects. One is described as 16 to 18-year-old and was wearing a grey Adidas sweat suit.
The second, who cops said was the one who threatened the teen, is about 19-years-old and has various tattoos on his hands and arms along with a tattoo of a screaming mouth on his neck.
Anyone with information is asked to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
