Tim Tebow Throws Back-To-Back Picks, Mark Sanchez Sharp At Jets OTAs

NEW YORK (WFAN) -- The media got their first look at Tim Tebow in a Jets uniform Thursday.

And no, we aren't talking about his likeness "Tebowing" in Madden 13.

Twitter was abuzz for the Jets' first open day of OTAs, and the backup quarterback didn't disappoint in one sense. In true Tebow-mania fashion, the 24-year-old provided plenty of fuel for discussion.

With his former college coach Urban Meyer watching from the sideline, Tebow fired a quick completion in seven-on-seven drills to wide receiver Patrick Turner. Good start. But that was followed by an interception to Bart Scott and another pick -- on the very next play -- to newly-signed safety Yeremiah Bell.

Yikes.

He was also seen lined up as the punt protector on special teams, WFAN's Peter Schwartz tweeted. Special teams coach Mike Westhoff hinted this offseason that he may use No. 15 on his unit.

Meanwhile, embattled starting quarterback Mark Sanchez threw a 75-yard touchdown to second-round pick Stephen Hill.

"Who knows what this will mean in the long run," tweeted Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News, "but Mark Sanchez was clearly the best Jets QB on the field today. "
