World-Class Soccer Coming To Yankee Stadium

NEW YORK (WFAN/AP) — Jose Mourinho, manager of Spanish giants Real Madrid known as 'The Special One' is coming to 'The House that The Boss Built.'

He'll be bringing worldwide famous superstar Cristiano Ronaldo with him as Real Madrid are set to play Italian superpower AC Milan at Yankee Stadium on August 8.

Real Madrid has a collection of stars that rival the Yankees and who broke Barcelona's grip on the Spanish La Liga title.  Besides Ronaldo, 'Los Blancos' carry icons such as Iker Casillas, Kaka, Xabi Alonso and Karim Benzema.

AC Milan, owned by former Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi, is already set to face Chelsea in Miami on July 28 and will have a match in Pittsburgh on August 4.

The popular Italian club finished second in Italy's Serie A.  Their main stars are Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Alexandre Pato and Robinho.

Real Madrid is on their third straight U.S. preaseason tour, will open at the Los Angeles Galaxy on Aug 2 and play Italian league champion Juventus three days later in Las Vegas. They'll meet Scottish champion Glasgow Celtic in Philadelphia on Aug. 5.

Mourinho earned his nickname at his introductory news conference as Chelsea manager in 2004 when he boldly declared, "I think I'm a special one."

It's the second preseason game at the new Yankee Stadium, which opened in 2009. European champion Chelsea will play Paris Saint-Germain there on July 22.

Chelsea just captured the UEFA Champions League title over German club Bayern Munich.  They boast stars such as John Terry, Frank Lampard, Fernando Torres, Juan Mata and Petr Cech.
