Upon his return to Citi Field after wearing a Mets uniform for six-plus seasons, Carlos Beltran is having a tough time understanding why he was never really embraced by the majority of Mets fans.

Allow Craig Carton to clear things up.

Boomer and Craig spent the majority of today’s show open talking about Beltran’s tenure with the Mets and his pending return, during which he’ll be wearing a St. Louis Cardinals uniform.  As usually is the case, the guys didn’t see completely eye to eye — but that just adds to the fun.

Speaking of fun, Craig had more than a little with a piece of audio sure to turn Mets fans’ stomachs – ‘Carlos Beltran caught looking!’ – courtesy of Mets radio play-by-play man Howie Rose.  Craig’s fun went on for a while, as he played it over, over and over again until Boomer finally put a stop to it.

Boomer also made it very clear that he does not think Craig resembles a professional athlete at all, then the Dynamic Radio Duo went on to name a few New York athletes who ‘get it’ and that’s how ya’ open-up a Friday edition of this thing we call the Morning Extravaganza…
