Police Seek Suspect Wanted For Scamming Elderly Woman Of $620

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police in the Bronx are asking for help identifying the suspect wanted for a larceny by deception of an elderly woman.

A 92-year-old woman was waiting for a car service in the Soundview section when she was approached by a suspect who struck up a conversation with her.

During that conversation, the suspect told the victim she had found a bag of money, but was unable to count it outside.

The suspect told the victim if they go to the victim's apartment and she gave her $320, the suspect would then give her a $1000.

The victim brought the suspect to the apartment, where the suspect requested another $300. The victim complied and handed -- giving the suspect a total of $620.

The suspect then fled the apartment. No reported injuries.

The suspect is described as a black woman, weighing 170 pounds with brown eyes and black hair.
