B&C Morning Show: Calling It Like It Is

Before Jerry Recco's first update of the morning, Craig thought it was only right to play the extended version of the great Howie Rose's (pictured) play-by-play call of Johan Santana's historic final out Friday night, which was heard right here on the flagship station of the NY Mets, Sports Radio 66 WFAN.

Jerry Recco arrived at work this morning with a bit of a headache, having taken a baseball to the dome over the weekend while coaching his son's Little League team.  Jerry was also sporting what turned out to be a very distracting blemish that had Boomer getting a little too close for comfort.

Jerry battled his way through all of the distractions and went-on to deliver a fantastic update which began with the red-hot Mets as they beat the Cardinals 6-1 and will look to complete the rare four-game sweep of the Red Birds this afternoon at Citi Field.

The Yankees got a leadoff homer from Derek Jeter, a complete-game courtesy of Phil Hughes (the 25 year-old's first career complete-game) yesterday and beat the Tigers 5-1.  The Bombers took 2 of 3 from Detroit and now are just 1.5 games out of 1st in the AL East.

Plus, the Celtics evened things up with the Heat in the NBA Eastern Conference Finals last night, with a 93-91 OT win in Boston and Tiger Woods gets his 73rd career PGA Tour win (tying him with Jack Nicklaus for the 2nd most wins all time - trailing only Sam Snead, 82 career wins) at the Memorial...
