NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — Police are looking for a suspect who they said slashed a subway rider with a pair of scissors.

It happened just after 2 a.m. on June 1 on the northbound D train at 125th Street and St. Nicholas Avenue.

After some sort of verbal dispute, police said the suspect slashed a 30-year-old man on his head and arms with the scissors. The victim was taken to the hospital and treated for his injuries.

The suspect was seen on surveillance video and a picture of him was also taken on the train, according to police. He was wearing a yellow jacket with the word “Brazil” on the back and black pants and has a pockmarked face, police said.

Anyone with information should call police or Crime Stoppers at 800 577-TIPS.
