Flooding Causes Traffic Tie-Up In Suffolk County

HAUPPAUGE, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) - Route 111 in Hauppauge became a river Wednesday morning, WCBS 880's Sophia Hall reported.

Flooding snarled traffic in the area and the DOT spent two hours pumping the water out.

EXTRA: Check Traffic

Some drivers tried to make their way through the high water, while others changed course to take up alternate routes.

The rain that has soaked the area for the past day is moving out.

Meteorologist Danielle Knittle's forecast is for some breaks of sunshine to appear this afternoon, with a high of 72. There should be a good deal of sun through Sunday.
