Jets Reportedly Rule Out Reunion With Braylon Edwards

NEW YORK (WFAN) -- It seems Braylon Edwards won't be making a repeat appearance with the Jets.

Though the wide receiver was thought to be on the team's radar this offseason, a reunion with Edwards has been "ruled out," according to the New York Post.

The Jets are "happy" with their receiving corps of Santonio Holmes, Jeremy Kerley, draft pick Stephen Hill and Chaz Schilens, the paper reported.

Edwards, who signed a one-year deal with San Francisco last offseason, was waived by the 49ers prior to Week 17.

His production suffered has he battled through knee and shoulder injuries. The 29-year-old caught 15 passes for 181 yards and no touchdowns in nine games last season.

Edwards was traded from Cleveland to New York during the 2009 season. Under coach Rex Ryan, the receiver had 53 catches for 904 yards and seven touchdowns in 2010.

Despite his accomplishments on the field, Edwards may be remembered most for a September 2010 DWI arrest in Manhattan.
