Hugh Jackman Hosts Free Summer Festival In Bryant Park
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Hugh Jackman is sharing his plans for the upcoming weekend.
He's hosting New York City's first installment of Tropfest, billed as the world's largest short film festival. It's taking place at Bryant Park, and is free and open to the public.

Tropfest is the brainchild of director John Polson. It started 20 years ago in Australia and is now an annual event that draws more than 150,000 people. It's since expanded to India, China, Paris and Las Vegas.
In a recent interview Jackman, who finished a 10 week run of his show "Hugh Jackman: Back on Broadway" last January, said one of his favorite things about the festival is its accessibility. Entries can be filmed on a mobile phone.
The entries for New York's inaugural Tropfest have been narrowed down to eight finalists. Winners for Best Film, Best Actor and Best Actress will be chosen on Saturday.
