Teen Accused Of Shooting At Harlem Crowd Before Foot Chase With Police

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A teenager has been charged in connection with a shooting in Harlem.

Sean Terrell, 17, apparently opened fire on a group of people on Madison Avenue near 112th Street around 11:15 p.m. Tuesday night, police said.

Three members of the NYPD's gang unit witnessed the incident and chased down the suspect on foot, police said.

Terrell was apprehended in the King Towers, police said. A gun was recovered nearby.

No injuries were reported but an officer who had shot at Terrell during the pursuit was taken to St. Luke's Hospital for tinnitus.

Terrell is charged with attempted murder, criminal use of a firearm, criminal possession of a weapon, reckless endangerment and menacing a police officer.
