Ugly Divorce Battle Between Christie Brinkley, Ex Continues In L.I. Courtroom

RIVERHEAD, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- Four years after their split the war's not over.

Christie Brinkley appeared in a Riverhead, Long Island courtroom late Friday afternoon accusing her ex-husband Peter Cook of contempt. He contends she is the one who violated terms of their divorce.

Brinkley walked into court flashing her super model smile in an ugly battle. She is accusing Cook of violating their divorce, but he called her claims "meaningless."

The barbs go both ways.

Brinkley accused Cook of being a deadbeat Dad and sending aggressive emails. Cook, an architect who was married to Brinkley 12 years, said she's an ego maniac who is dragging the case through the courts to drum up publicity.

Cook said he is raising their kids, ages 13 and 16, alone.  Lawyers have been unable to work things out.

"Mr. Cook did not pay his child support, Mr. Cook did not pay the small fraction of the contribution that he was to pay toward his children's education," said Brinkley's attorney Tom Campagna.

"This is an angry, vindictive woman. My crimes against Christie Brinkley are six years old. I'm a great father to my children. This absurd that we're here today," Cook said.

The divorce made headlines in 2008. Cook confessed to an affair with an 18-year-old assistant. Cook said Brinkley, who is worth millions, is out for revenge.

"Any mother in America, if you're protecting your children from someone, particularly a mother of her net worth, would you go off and do Broadway and give him the children for five months straight?" Cook asked.

Both Hamptonites moved on after their bitter divorce. Brinkley travels with the show Chicago and Cook has remarried.  The venom between them, however, continues to flow.  With no agreement, they will now be fighting their personal battles in open court on Tuesday morning.
