EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (CBSNewYork) - In an extremely rare turn of events, the Jets and the Giants are on the same side of a battle. But naturally, it’s taking place off of the football field.
Both franchises are suing the developers of a mall that is coming to the Meadowlands.
The suit demands that the Triple Five Group shut down the American Dream shopping and entertainment complex on game-days, claiming that it will make travel to the games a nightmare if it remains open, the New York Times reported.
The complex is expected to include an indoor amusement park, among other attractions.
Both the teams and the developers have been trying to come up with a solution. However, it doesn’t appear that much progress has been made.
Thus far in the ongoing process, the Triple Five Group has refused to close the mall on the scheduled 20 game-days at MetLife Stadium during the season.
Are you in favor of the development of the American Dream mall, or do you think that it will be too much for the area to handle? Sound off with your thoughts and comments in the section below…
