North Shore Animal League America To Welcome 65 Dogs Rescued From Puppy Mills

PORT WASHINGTON, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) – Long Island is awaiting a special delivery.

Nearly 65 dogs and puppies rescued from puppy mills in Texas and Missouri will arrive late Tuesday afternoon at the North Shore Animal League America in Port Washington.

The canines come in all shapes, sizes and ages.

The breeds include Chihuahua, Bichon Frise, Chiweenies (a Chihuahua and Dachshund mix), Havanese and King Charles Cavalier.

The dogs will be evaluated medically and behaviorally and spayed or neutered before they become available for adoption this Saturday.
