B&C Morning Show: Yankees Take Big Blow But Win; Mets Explode At Wrigley

Today's radio program began on a somewhat somber note, as Craig battled through his emotions and talked about how 'his' beloved Yankees will be forced to endure the loss of 40 percent of their starting rotation, as both CC Sabathia and Andy Pettitte were placed on the DL yesterday.

The 'hefty-lefty' will likely return after the All-Star break and only miss about 3 1/2 weeks, Pettitte on the other-hand, he took a comebacker off his fibula, breaking the bone and shelving the 40-year-old lefty for 6-8 weeks. Ouch!

With all of that said, the Bombers still managed to beat the Indians 5-4 despite Pettitte's early exit.  The win was the Yanks' 5th in a row and they now hold a 5-game lead over the Orioles for 1st place in the AL East.  Boomer & Craig discussed whether or not they believe the Yankees will be able to weather the storm before moving on to the Mets, who got things right yesterday afternoon in the 'Windy City'.

The Mets exploded for 17 runs against the Cubs and afterwards had trouble finding a flight out of town.  That hiccup in the Mets travel itinerary, led to an informative discussion about the engineering of an airplane.
