NYPD Looking For Livery-Cab Driver Accused Of Leaving Scene After Hitting Eight-Year-Old

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) - Police have been looking for the driver of a livery cab accused of leaving the scene after hitting an 8-year-old boy in Brooklyn.

Frankelly Acevedo was taken to Brookdale Hospital on Friday evening, the New York Daily News reported.

He was bleeding badly and suffered head injuries, but a neighbor said that the little boy still tried to comfort his mother. He told her not to cry.

He was thrown about 20 feet by the impact.

Witnesses said that he and other children were playing near a fire hydrant when the accident occurred.
