Shumpert For Nash Sign-And-Trade In The Works?

NEW YORK (WFAN) - It was originally believed the Toronto Raptors' offer sheet to Landry Fields would kill any chance of Steve Nash joining the New York Knicks.

Now, that isn't the case as the Knicks are ready to do whatever it takes to bring former two-time NBA MVP Steve Nash to 'The World's Most Famous Arena.'

The Knicks are now prepared to give up one of their most talented young players in Iman Shumpert in order to bring Nash to Madison Square Garden.

Should the Knicks give up Shumpert to acquire Nash, it would be received with a split reaction from their fan base.

Some Knicks fans believe the franchise must keep hold of Shumpert, who has already shown tremendous promise at 22.  Shumpert already is a skilled defender and is developing the offensive side of his game.

The Knicks could be hurting their future by giving up a 22-year-old for a 38-year-old with chronic back issues in Nash.

Still, Nash is an All-Star level point guard at 38 and is one of the finest distributors in NBA history.

It is believed that the Knicks would have to part with Toney Douglas, Josh Harrellson and Jerome Jordan along with Shumpert to acquire Nash from the Suns.

Should the Knicks do what it takes to get Nash or would it be a mistake to give up Shumpert?  Let us know...
