One Dead After Crash On Saw Mill River Parkway In Yonkers

YONKERS (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Westchester County police are investigating a two-car crash that left one person dead and five injured.

The accident happened at around 12:15 p.m. Sunday on the Saw Mill River Parkway in Yonkers.

Police say a speeding Mercedes collided with a Honda. The Mercedes struck the center divider and flipped over several times. Two of the five people in it were ejected.

One of the men from the Mercedes was pronounced dead at a hospital. The other four people from the Mercedes and the driver of the Honda were all treated at hospitals.

Traffic on the southbound Saw Mill was diverted at Rumsey Road while police investigated the crash. Traffic patterns did not return to normal until nine hours after the crash.
