NJ Mother-Daughter Duo Charged For Purse Thefts
WALL TOWNSHIP, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Police in Wall Township say they've arrested a mother-daughter duo and charged them in a series of purse snatchings.
Police Chief Robert Brice says 45-year-old Jennifer L. Barth and her 21-year-old daughter, Lindsay A. Barth, both of Pleasant Borough, were arrested Wednesday night.
It's not clear if the women have retained lawyers.
Brice says the pair allegedly targeted elderly shoppers at grocery stores, snatching 5 purses over a ten day period from unattended shopping carts.
Jennifer Barth faces five charges of conspiracy to commit theft. She is being held on $37,500 bail.
Her daughter faces five theft-related counts. She is being held on $40,000 bail.
