Police: Man Arrested In Alleged Rape, Robbery Of Tourist At Bronx Hotel
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A man is under arrest in connection with the rape of a tourist in the Bronx.
Ivan Jones, 27, of the Bronx, has been charged with rape, robbery, strangulation and assault.
The alleged attack happened at the Howard Johnson Hotel on Boston Road early Wednesday morning, police said.
Jones first encountered the 33-year-old victim from North Carolina on a subway train at East 14th street and Union Square and gave her directions, police said.
He then followed the victim to her hotel room, knocked on the door around 4 a.m. and pushed his way inside before raping her, police said.
