As you head out this weekend, it’s one thing for us to say cool – but there are specific things you need to do to keep your pets safe for the summer.
Sandra Defeo from the Humane Society of New York stopped by The Couch to offer tips on how to keep your pets cool – and safe – in the summer heat.
Find some of her tips below. For more, check out the video clip.
1) Good Hydration – Keep water in shade and make sure to provide fresh water daily.
2) Never leave pet locked in car – Pets heat up quickly, and the temperature could be deadly.
3) Burn Caution – Watch out for hot sidewalk/asphalts, as paw pads can burn.
4) Cool Down – Bathe your pet without soap as a “cool down” measure. Wipe them clean with a damp towel.
