Pedestrian Dead After Out-Of-Control Driver Allegedly Strikes Two On Grand Concourse
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - After striking two men who were crossing the Grand Concourse in the Bronx just after midnight on Saturday, a 37-year-old man driving a Honda CR-V didn't even stop.
He kept going north on the Grand Concourse and turned onto Mount Eden, where he hit an ambulance head on.

A 42-year-old pedestrian was left dead, and a 34-year-old is fighting for his life at Lincoln Hospital.
One woman who lives near the scene told 1010 WINS' Glenn Schuck that she saw the crash, and said that her young daughter is just scared to walk anywhere these days.
"Every time [my daughter] tells me, 'Let's catch the bus instead of walking, mom,' because she's scared," the woman said. "All she sees are the cars going really fast on the concourse. There's really no speed bump, and as soon as [the cars] get ready to turn they don't even stop and wait for you to walk. They just keep going."
And naturally, she's very angry at the driver.
"The person must have been high or something," she added. "I think he should go to jail and serve all his time for the simple fact that he just took a life, and almost took another. They should take his license away and serve him some good time."
The driver was arrested at the scene on suspicion of drunk driving, and he's facing other serious charges as well.
