Construction Worker Falls Several Stories At Fordham University's Lincoln Center Campus

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A construction worker fell as many as four stories down an elevator shaft at Fordham University's Lincoln Center Campus, EMS told 1010 WINS.

The incident happened shortly after 11 a.m. Monday on West 62nd Street at the site for the university's new law school and residence hall, the school said in a statement.

It is unclear how or why the worker fell.

The worker, who has no been identified, was rushed to St. Luke's Hospital.

The extent of his injuries has not been released.

"The University community has the worker and his family in our thoughts and prayers today," the school said in a statement. "We hope he will have a rapid and complete recovery from his injuries."
