Man 'Targeted' In Montclair Shooting Identified As Brian Schiavetti, 21, Of Ridgefield, Conn.

MONTCLAIR, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) - A Connecticut man who was shot and killed in Montclair, N.J. Sunday night was "targeted,'' according to authorities.

Police found 21-year-old Brian Schiavetti of Ridgefield, Conn., in a first-floor hallway of an apartment building on 25 William Street at around 6:30 p.m. July 22.

He had been shot multiple times, according to police.

Schiavetti was scheduled to graduate Villanova University in 2013, and was working as an intern at Thompson Reuters, according to his LinkedIn profile.

Schiavetti graduated from Ridgefield High School in 2009, where he was an honor student, and was commended for achievement in advanced placement classes, according to the Ridgefield Press.

On Monday, Montclair Det. Lt. Angel L. Roman Jr. said an "active investigation" is ongoing. "We cannot release anything," he said, according to Ridgefield Patch.
