Fitness Technology: Apps & Gadgets To Get You Moving

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Our Smartphones are a key part of our workout routine - usually to hear music while we're jogging or at the gym. But there are also plenty of apps and gadgets that can help you stay in shape.

Spike TV host and tech expert Katie Linendoll visited The Couch to get us up-to-date on our health and fitness app options.

Some of her top picks:

The "Zombies Run" App - Not only can you listen to music while you're running, but you can also be put in the middle of a zombie apocalypse. What can get you hustling more? The $8 app works with your playlist and also logs your distance and pace. Zombiesrungame.com.

The "Map My Ride" App - Like "Map My Run," but for bikers. There are 26 million bike courses you can choose from on this 2.99 app, which logs distance and pace. There are also millions of community members, so you can link up with people to go riding with. Mapmyride.com

LUMOback Sensor - This gadget is expected to be big for holiday shopping when it comes out in November. It's a small device you wear, which helps keep you sitting up straight by vibrating whenever you start slouching. $149.
