Montclair Man Arrested in Murder of Villanova Student

MONTCLAIR, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- A 21-year-old Montclair man has been charged in the shooting death of a Villanova University student.

Ernest Williams, Jr. is accused of shooting and killing 21-year-old Brian Schiavetti, of Ridgefield, Conn. during a robbery, officials announced Friday.

Schiavetti was found dead around 6:40 p.m. Sunday in a first-floor hallway of an apartment building on 25 William Street.

He had been shot multiple times, police said.

Williams is charged with murder, robbery and weapons offenses.

He is being held on $750,000 bail.
