Since the Yankees acquired Ichiro Suzuki on July 23rd, there has been great anticipation surrounding what legendary Yankees radio play-by-play man John Sterling might utter when Ichiro hits one ‘high, far & gone’.

Well last night in the 7th inning, on the heels of an Eric Chavez long-ball, Ichiro hit one out and Sterling described it for the listening audience. To Craig’s dismay, the call was not a great one and he described it as ‘embarrassingly bad’.  Not to worry though, in anticipation of the monumental event, we had our own Jerry Recco do his own call and through the magic of technology, we mashed together Sterling’s call with that of Jerry’s and the result made everything seem alright.

From there Jerry offered us the rest of the details surrounding the Yankees 5-4 set-back, which included yet another Sterling gaffe and scheduling MRI for Mark Teixeira who left the game with am injured left wrist.

Plus, the Mets win their second game in a row 8-7 over the San Francisco Giants, Tim Tebow wishes he could just lead a normal life, Giants lose Terrell Thomas for the season and Team USA Basketball is favored by 56 points over Tunisia…
