Choi rarely plays the lottery but said she couldn't help herself when she saw how big the jackpot had gotten.

"I might spend $10 a year on lottery tickets," Choi said. "I saw the big jackpot on the display in the store and went ahead and bought a ticket."

The winning numbers were 3, 4, 24, 36, 52 and the Mega Ball is 45.

Choi chose the lump sum payment of $64 million. She will take home just over $40 million after taxes.

"I am still in shock," Choi said. "I've already started looking at new condos, but that's about it."

The owner of the store, Tony Lau, will receive $10,000 for selling the winning ticket.

The record for the largest Mega Millions jackpot was set in March. It was worth more than $650 million.
