Under 35 & Not Pregnant: Infertility Problems Plague Younger Women

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Pregnancy problems seem to be plaguing women at a younger age.

More and more couples are seeking infertility treatments.

Anne Mercogliano spoke with two women doing just that, who found they weren't alone.

It's an issue that's hard to even talk about, but it's important that we do.

Helping us understand it all this morning is women's health expert and Dr. Evelyn Minaya.

As she explained, a normal, fertile couple takes about a year to become pregnant. After the age of 35, infertility is defined as not getting pregnant after trying for six months.
