Urologist Accused Of Peeping Up Women’s Skirts In The Subway
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — Authorities have accused a urologist with Mount Sinai Medical Center of trying to snap pictures up the skirts of unsuspecting women.
Prosecutors said a transit cop in the Union Square subway station spotted Dr. Adam Levinson during Tuesday night’s rush hour putting a pen on a newspaper, and then holding the pen under a woman’s skirt. The cop took the pen away from Levinson and discovered not only could the pen write, it could also record video.

“I think that’s sick for anyone to do that, sick,” said Terry Hillman of Flatbush.
According to investigators, the transit officer found several video clips Levinson allegedly recorded underneath the woman’s skirt, CBS 2’s Hazel Sanchez reported.
A witness told police he saw Levinson doing the same thing on the No. 4 train from 59th Street to 14th Street and then again on the L train platform, 1010 WINS’ Juliet Papa reports.
In a city where all kinds of crazy things happen all the time, this one for many New Yorkers was difficult to fathom.
“That’s horrifying to hear. That’s disgusting,” said Alison Dick of the Upper East Side.
“Some people are just, you know, they can kind of hide it. Don’t judge a book by it’s cover,” added Crystal Chang of Bayside.
“It’s scary. It tells us to be more careful,” Murray Hill resident Chelsea Schuster said.
Prosecutors said Levinson, who could not be reached for comment Thursday night, was charged with unlawful surveillance in the second degree. If convicted, he could face up to four years in jail.
The hospital reacted swiftly, saying in a statement: “Mount Sinai has suspended Dr. Levinson because of his alleged conduct underlying the arrest. Mount Sinai is performing its own investigation for the protection of its patients and employees.”
According to the bio on Mount Sinai’s website, Levinson studied at U.C. Berkeley, Georgetown, and graduated at the top of his class at New York Medical College.
He has several awards and publications to his name.
