Brooklyn Cyclones Hold 'Trash Your Ex' Night At MCU Park

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - When people look around their homes, there are certain things that always seem to stand out for the wrong reasons.

Maybe it's a sweater, a picture frame or a teddy bear. But whatever it may be, it always seems to remind you of your past significant other.

For those looking to forget about their ex-boyfriend or ex-girlfriend, Saturday night is their chance to do just that.

Saturday night is "Trash Your Ex" night at MCU Park, the home of the Brooklyn Cyclones baseball team.

Dan Pecoraro, the spokesperson for the Minor League club, said that the organization teamed up with the Department of Sanitation.

"Sometimes the best way to move on from those painful old relationships and memories is to pretty much trash all that stuff," Pecoraro told WCBS 880's Sophia Hall. "So we thought, 'Why not create a theme-night promotion called 'Trash Your Ex?'"

Pecoraro also admitted that some matches could potentially be made in the stands this evening.

"If a lot of single people come out tonight and they're all trying to rid themselves of their past relationships, then yeah, why not?" Pecoraro concluded.

First pitch is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
