Dierks Bentley Says Releasing 'Tip It On Back' A 'No-Brainer'

Dierks Bentley says “it was a no brainer choice for me” when he chose his next single from the album Home. The song begs for you to let it all go and “Tip It On Back.”

Bentley’s current studio album has already produced three number one hits, including “Am I The Only One,” “5-1-5-0” and the title track “Home.” The popularity of “Tip It On Back” as a summer fan request is likely an indication that this will be the fourth hit single from Home.

"There seems to be a theme developing in my career this summer...'tip it on back,' 'country & cold cans,' the opening song to the show 'Weeds,'" Dierks explains on his website. "When we were recording this album, I knew right away I wanted this song to be a single, and I really hoped we would get to it sooner than later. The fans have been asking for it all summer, so it was a no brainer choice for me.”

Listen to a preview of the song, and then watch Dierks perform "Tip It On Back" during his Live on Letterman concert webcast earlier this year.

In a behind the scenes exclusive Bentley tells how the vibe of the song is kind of an “anti-hope” song, that we are always hoping that something will leave us inspired or hoping for better days, “but the only thing I can really control right now is having a good time.” This makes it pretty obvious why “Tip It On Back” has become a great summer party anthem, as fans flock to his concerts to let it all go; “blow off some steam."

Dierks is going to help some college students blow off that steam during his upcoming ‘Country & Cold Cans: Back To College Tour.'
