Zia O'Hara, photographer and cook, visited The Couch to show us how to cook up the perfect egg.
Here is the recipe, straight from Zia herself. For more, visit her website: ZiaCooks.com:
Put butter in the pan, cover it with a little bit of half and half
Let the cream come to a simmer and let it melt
Crack eggs and place them over butter
Put glass cover over pan
While eggs are simmering, go to room temperature butter, basil, chives and parsley; use kitchen scissors to go into herbs; mash herbs around in butter, add fresh cracked pepper, can add fresh rosemary, thyme, or bay leaf; keep it in your fridge all summer long, can use it in multiple dishes; put it over steak too, it has endless purposes
Pop toast into toaster, check on those eggs, they look pretty good, want yolks creamy and runny, the whites should turn completely white
Plate it up, spread butter on toast, eat eggs with side salad, make side salad, toss it around
