First the guys offered a well-deserved congratulations to Par-Troy East, which is a Little League team from Parsippany that advanced to the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pa., over the weekend, after a thrilling 1-0 win in the Mid-Atlantic Regional championship at Breen Field in Bristol.
After Jerry Recco provided an update, which included details of a Yankees comeback that fell short, as the Bombers lost to the Blue Jays 10-7, thanks in part to a great catch courtesy of Raji Davis in the seventh inning – which we heard described by the one and only John Sterling. The Yankees now hold a five-game lead in the AL East over the second place Tampa Bay Rays and have placed CC Sabathia on the DL with soreness in his left elbow.
