NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — Actress Kristin Chenoweth is saying goodbye to the CBS drama “The Good Wife” after suffering an injury on set.

Chenoweth, 44, told People magazine that she is slowly getting better, but that she’s unable to return to the show.

Chenoweth was hit on the head by a piece of lighting equipment during filming in July in Brooklyn.

The Tony and Emmy Award winner will only appear on the show’s season premier on Sept. 30.

CBS Television Studios released a statement saying “We enjoyed having Kristin on the show and would love to have her back when she’s feeling better.”
